Bonaya was born on 25th September 1994 to peasant parents. Both his parents died when he was 2 years old and he was left destitute.

Bonaya was amongst the very first children who came to Baraka Children's home seeking for a safe haven from a hostile and cold world that he could not understand.

He has developed well over the years and is a good, well behaved boy. Before joining the home, he had been in the streets where bare survival, to say the least, was a very difficult task.

Bonaya loves dancing and playing football.
